Crazy-Looking Produce You Can (Maybe) Grow at Home

I found this great article.

We dove into the world of seeds sold on eBay, and were totally surprised by what we found.

These violet-colored tomatillos are supposedly sweeter than their green cousins.

This broccoli plant grows into cone-shaped veggies (and actually looks more like cauliflower) instead of tree-like stalks.

Striped beets look more like candy canes than root vegetables.

A large, puffy eggplant grows in unusual curves and folds.

This squash looks like a cross between a lemon and pumpkin.

If it weren’t for this tomato‘s smooth surface, we’d assume it was the world’s largest strawberry.

And the creepiest fruit award goes to these “baby ginseng” plants. We’re calling this seller’s bluff (they just can’t be real, right?), but oddly still can’t look away.
UPDATE: This guy might be the source of the creepy baby fruit.
