24 per cent year-over-year Home Sale Increase in Durham Region

Durham Region Association of REALTORS® (DRAR) reported 956 residential transactions September 2019. This result represents significant year-over-year sales growth of 24% compared to September 2018.

We saw a slight increase of new listings in September in comparison to the same time last year.

The average selling price in the Durham Region in September reached $ 611,569. This average represents a slight increase from the average of $587,009 in September 2018.

As you can see from this graph, the # of listings inventory is down from 2017 & 2018 but up from 2016.

This graph shows what homes are selling for compared to what homes are listed for. In 2016 we were selling almost 5% list price compared to almost 99% of list price currently. We are slightly better than last year.

This graph shows the months of inventory. We have less inventory (homes to sell) this year than the last 2 years with only 2 months of inventory, this suggests we are still in a SELLERS market.

This graph shows the average days it takes to sell a home. Its taking less time today than last year and about the same as 2017.
